Daily program

Day 1

Morning: Exceptional visit and tasting at Château de Pommard

Nestled in the heart of Pommard, an appellation which until the 19th century was known for all the wines of the Côte de Beaune, Château de Pommard comprises 20 hectares of enclosed land.

While Burgundy wine-growing is known for its fragmentation, Château de Pommard appears to be the largest private monopoly in Burgundy!

The Château de Pommard is “a condensed history of wine and architecture, anchored in modernity”. Architecturally, the building boasts an impressive array of roofs, cobbled courtyards, exceptional outbuildings and Regency and Directoire-style buildings, superbly restored by owner Maurice Giraud.

Guided discovery tour with wine tasting: 1 hour

  • Estate presentation
  • Tour of the Château de Pommard vineyards.
  • Visit to the cellars
  • Exceptional tasting of Château wines (3 white wines and 3 red wines / Cuvée Monopole / Pommard / Nuits St Georges / Chassagne – Montrachet / Meursault /1er crus)
  • Sale of estate wines (direct sales prices)

Terroir” lunch in a restaurant in the heart of the vineyards (starter, main course, dessert, wine, coffee)

This little inn is a paradise among the vines!

In an enchanting setting, you’ll be welcomed and served in a typical Burgundy dining room or on the terrace in the heart of the vineyards. Needless to say, the wine list is a real delight. The restaurant is located between Pommard and Meursault, between Beaune and Puligny Montrachet! Summer and winter alike, the Chef will seduce you with his refined cuisine, which combines the classical with the creative. A very good address and a sunny Burgundian cuisine!

Afternoon: “Discover Beaune

“Beaune: A major tourist and wine-growing destination, Beaune boasts a wealth of cultural treasures. The famous Hospices de Beaune, founded by Nicolas Rollin and Guigone de Salins, the Collégiale Basilique Notre Dame, the Musée du Vin, the Musée Marey and the ramparts surrounding the town are all must-see sites for your visit.

There’s nothing better than a stroll through Beaune’s typical little streets. Within its ramparts, Beaune reveals its charms: private mansions, half-timbered houses, flower-filled squares and gardens… Beaune is a town where it’s good to stroll!

Visit the Hospices de Beaune and the Hôtel-Dieu Museum. Self-guided tour with audio guides, reserved for you in this time slot.

Perfectly preserved since its foundation in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor to Philip the Good, this jewel of flamboyant Gothic architecture illustrates the close ties that existed at the time between Burgundy and Flanders, the new vassal of the House of Valois. Its polychrome roofs and the gold of the Last Judgement polyptych by Flemish master Rogier Van Der Weyden have made it famous. But this medieval hospital conceals many other treasures: “la grande salle des Pôvres”, with its richly sculpted and painted ceiling, “la chapelle gothique”, “la cuisine” with an automaton-driven spit, and “l’apothicairerie” with its collections of earthenware and pewter.

Installation in your hotel room.

This 3-star hotel is the only hotel in Burgundy located in the heart of the vineyards. As far as the eye can see, vines, nothing but vines, as far as the eye can see…

Tradition” dinner at your hotel restaurant (starter, main course, dessert, wine, coffee).

In the main building, with its resolutely contemporary architecture, you’ll find the reception, the restaurant with a panoramic view of Beaune’s 1st growths, a vast, bright lounge, a billiard table, beautiful antique furniture found in the region, and a bar open in the evening. You can dine on the terrace or in the restaurant, admiring the vineyards.

Day 2

Today, this region is considered the white wine nugget of the world.

The Château you are about to discover is one of its producers. It is, literally and figuratively, a veritable monument in Burgundy. In addition to its famous 1er cru, the estate produces excellent white and red Burgundies from a wide variety of appellations and plots. The consistency of production and the finesse of the wines are well worth a visit.

The Domaine owns 60 hectares of vines, all located on the Côte de Beaune, in the communes of Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-les-Beaune, Beaune, Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Corton Grand Cru.

The cellars beneath the Château and its outbuildings, dug out in the 14th and 16th centuries, can hold up to 800,000 bottles and over 2,000 barrels of wine.

For lovers of wine and history, Ce Château is a must-see when visiting Burgundy.

During the tour, you’ll be offered a tasting of the estate’s wines.

  • Guided tour of the cellars followed by a tasting of 6 wines in the Château’s former kitchens (5 wines (whites and reds, including two 1st growths).
  • Presentation of a brochure and silk-screened glass.

End of stay. Lunch available on request.
