Daily program

Day 1

Rendezvous in the Médoc, a wine-growing peninsula between the Gironde estuary and the ocean coast.

You’ll be welcomed to a magnificent estate in the heart of the red Médoc vineyards. You’ll be accommodated in a charming chambre d’hôtes, in comfortable surroundings, with an abundance of quality services: spacious rooms, saltwater pool, table d’hôte combining tradition and contemporary cuisine. Depending on the season, theme evenings are organized poolside in the pool house or on the terrace (Spanish-style plancha, barbecue).

Table d’hôte, overnight stay and breakfast.

The next day, you’ll be welcomed to two wine estates, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon: a Cru Bourgeois Moulis and a Grand Cru Classé Pauillac.

The program includes tours of the cellars and wineries, wine tastings, a visit to the Museum (in the château’s former cellars) and a screening of films on the art and craft of winegrowing:

This permanent exhibition offers visitors a complete inventory from the vine to wine tasting, including the work in the vineyard, cellar and oenology. There’s also a presentation of the ancillary trades directly linked to the life of wine, such as barrel-making (complete cooperage), cork-making and tasting glass-making, as well as a whole range of wine-related imagery, from labels to engravings and many other sometimes unusual objects. Return to the estate for your second night (table d’hôte).

Day 2

After a delicious breakfast at the estate, you’ll head off to the medieval town of Saint-Emilion and its prestigious vineyards, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Take the time to stroll through the city’s narrow streets and stop off at one of the many restaurants.

In the afternoon, a visit to a château in the jurisdiction producing organic Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, a wine made with the advice and expertise of Stéphane Derenoncourt.

Visit the estate, the vats, the cellar …

Historical presentation of the estate and general presentation of the Saint-Emilion appellation, classification of crus.

The topography of the vineyard, the nature of the soils, the grape varieties, the vegetative cycle and how to work the vines.

Introduction to winemaking and wine ageing

Commented tasting of several vintages.

In the late afternoon, welcome to Château de Môle, an 18th-century residence where you’ll also spend the night. The owners will share with you the charm of this guest house, located at the château, and invite you to discover the fragrance of their land and taste their wine.

Dinner at a restaurant in St Emilion.

To round off your stay, on the last day you’ll be welcomed in Saint-Emilion in the late morning for an introductory course in oenology and wine tasting led by a professional oenologist.

At the end of this journey, on the wine route of our magnificent region, our heads full of memories of these sumptuous residences and the artists who bring them to life.

Day 3

In the late morning, you’ll be welcomed by the “passionate and passionate” owners of a beautiful chartreuse, set amidst splendid parkland and vines. They produce Graves wines and will take you on a tour of their vineyards and winery. You’ll discover a more artisanal approach to winemaking (grapes are still picked by hand) on a smaller scale, and you’ll be able to taste both whites and reds. You’ll leave the estate with a souvenir of 3 of the production.

Lunch at your leisure in a restaurant next to the property or at the site of the afternoon tour.

In the afternoon, a guided tour of Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a Graves Grand Cru Classé in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The tour ends with a tasting of this world-renowned wine, after discovering the underground cellar where the wine is filled into wooden barrels, the château’s own cooperage. You’re free to explore the grounds (vineyards, pond, hotel, restaurant, vinotherapy center).

Overnight in a charming B&B in an 18th-century château, tastefully renovated with respect for the stone. Dinner at an excellent restaurant serving regional specialities, 3 km from the château.

Day 4

End this tour after breakfast, on the wine trail of our magnificent region, with memories of these sumptuous residences and the artists who bring them to life. Possibility of a self-guided tour of Château de Montesquieu.
