Day 1

Arrival at Bordeaux train station or airport. Transfer by coach or cab to your hotel in central Bordeaux.

Day 2

Bordeaux, the ancient Roman “Burdigala”, indissociable from its vineyards… shines brightly in its stone finery to dispense with artifice. The capital of wine, it also boasts a wealth of historical and architectural treasures; The Place de la Bourse, the Palais de la Bourse and the Hôtel des Douanes, the Allées de Tourny, the Place des Grands Hommes and the Grand Théâtre, the Palais Rohan, the Place Pey-Berland and the Cathédrale Saint-André, the Place des Quinconces, the Place du Parlement, the Jardin Public, the various city gates, the quays and numerous 18th-century town houses all contribute to the elegance of the capital of Aquitaine.

In the second half of the 19th century, as Bordeaux’s port and river activities prospered comfortably, a charming hotel was built on the quayside. Traders, merchants, bankers and businessmen gathered here to discuss fine wines, merchandise exchange and opera.

You’ll embark on an immersive, sensory adventure to discover the cultures and civilizations of wine.

Throughout your visit, you’ll be equipped with an audio-guide, a travel companion and innovative tool available in 8 languages, enabling you to explore the tour at your own pace.

The visit of the permanent tour includes access to the belvedere of La Cité du Vin, where you will discover Bordeaux from 360° while tasting a glass of wine from around the world (5cl).NB: Reservation of the ticket and tasting included in the price of the stay but the visit takes place independently with audio-guides. Day 3

Not far from Bordeaux, between Libourne and Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Émilion stands like an open-air museum. Built in the shape of an amphitheatre in a limestone valley, this small town, “the gem of Bordeaux”, is both astonishing and fascinating. A city steeped in history perched on a rocky promontory, Saint-Emilion and its vineyards derive their originality from the limestone that has shaped its identity. Saint-Emilion also owes its exceptional character to the great diversity of its terroirs and wines.

Morning: Departure by coach from the hotel to Saint-Emilion.guided tour of Saint-Emilion underground :

During this tour, your guide will give you the keys to understanding Saint-Emilion’s underground heritage. From the story of the monk Emilion, between legend and reality, to the excavation of the surprising monolithic church; from the paintings in the Chapel of the Trinity to the secrets of the catacombs. A condensed history through four major monuments!

On this walk, you’ll marvel at the many architectural and local treasures: mounds, staircases, cloisters…

Guided tour of a “Saint-Emilion Grand Cru” wine château:

This tour lasts about 1 hour: Presentation of Saint-Emilion and its entire jurisdiction, as well as the specific characteristics of the Bordeaux region. Discovery of the estate; Welcome by the cellar master; Presentation of the different stages in the Saint-Emilion wine-making process.

Gourmet lunch in a Saint-Emilion restaurant (starter, main course, dessert, ¼ wine, coffee):

You’ll be amazed by our culinary specialties and the typical Saint-Emilion atmosphere. The entire restaurant team will welcome you to discover the enchanting gastronomic universe of the place. The Chef will deliver a modern cuisine, rich in flavors and in tune with the times, while offering you exceptional products.

Transfer by coach or cab to Bordeaux airport or SNCF train station.

Day 4

Detailed information

  • Visits and tastings at wine châteaux. Restaurant meals during day excursions. Lunches or picnics at wine châteaux.
  • Evenings on request and according to schedule. Boat trips, mini-cruises on the Bay of Arcachon or the Gironde Estuary, tourist train rides. Visits to museums, castles, parks and caves in south-west France.
  • Supervision of excursions by guides (in French and foreign languages on request). Specialized guides and/or lecturers (cultural visits, visits to monuments, city tours, visits to natural sites).
  • Entrance tickets to all sites.
  • Transport by touring coach and small coach on request (transport from Bordeaux to Bordeaux as well as in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the Pyrenees).
  • Drivers available for multi-day trips.
  • Transfers by tourist minibus and cab from Bordeaux to Bordeaux for very small groups.
