Day 1
ordeaux, the ancient Roman “Burdigala”, inextricably linked with its vineyards…shines brightly in its stone finery to dispense with artifice. The capital of wine, it also boasts a wealth of historical and architectural treasures: the Palais de la Bourse and the Hôtel de Douanes, the Grand Théâtre, the Jardins du Palais Rohan, the Cathedral, the Place des Quinconces, the Place du Parlement, the Place des Grands Hommes, the Grand Théâtre, the Allées de Tourny, the Place Pey-Berland and many more. as well as the many18th-century townhouses in the heart of the city center, contribute to the elegance of the Aquitaine capital. The Garonne River, the heart of the city, welcomes strollers on its banks or for boat trips. Everyone can make the quays their own, in the hope of witnessing the stopover of a cruise liner, the “astonishing spectacle” of a giant of the seas in the heart of the city.

Guided tour of Bordeaux by coach (Punctuated by short stops to visit sites only accessible on foot – duration 2h00 from hotel)
You’ll discover All the city’s major sites and monuments , as well as the quays with their majestic facades, the avenues with their beautiful town houses, the squares, bridges and city gates, and the cathedral.

Afternoon: Guided boat trip on the Garonne River (duration 1h00)
Discover the Port of Bordeaux, also known as the Port of the Moon because of its configuration, and read its history on the quayside facades (from the Pont de Pierre to the Bassin à flot, along all the city’s quays).
Visit the Port de la Lune, its history and rehabilitation. The redevelopment of the Deux Rives has largely freed the quays from sheds and cars, and opened them up to urban life and walking. On Bordeaux’s left bank, 30 hectares of public spaces have been developed, and a number of ” Hangars ” along the Garonne have been rehabilitated.
Day 2
Morning: Meet in front of the hotel with a tour guide.
Guided tour of “Old Bordeaux”: (on foot) Thanks to an unprecedented economic boom, Bordeaux underwent a veritable urban transformation in the 18th century. The city’s prosperity, which attracted a working population from all over the region, as well as merchants and shipowners from all over Europe, was above all the result of its dynamic maritime trade, which placed it at the heart of international trade. Comments on the privileged place of the city of Bordeaux in the 18th century in the kingdom of France, through its political weight and the importance of its architectural transformations, still visible today. You’ll discover Guided tour of the Musée des Douanes: The Musée National des Douanes presents the history of this administration from antiquity to the present day, covering the construction of the French state and its relations with the rest of the world. The only one of its kind in France, this museum offers an original and unexpected rediscovery of the history of France through that of one of its oldest administrations. Afternoon: Guided tour of the Basilique Saint-Seurin in Bordeaux:
The Basilique Saint-Seurin is one of Bordeaux’s oldest places of worship, as well as a stopover for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Built in the 6th century, then remodeled between the 12th and 14th centuries, the cathedral remains a jewel of Romanesque architecture, despite its apparent austerity. Numerous Gothic elements bear witness to the building’s successive alterations. The site has been turned into a museum retracing the Christian origins of Bordeaux, where you can admire Merovingian marble sarcophagi. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 3
Morning: Discover the Cité Mondiale du Vin in Bordeaux
La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux was conceived as a unique cultural leisure site dedicated to wine as a living, universal cultural heritage. It offers a spectacular journey around the world, through the ages, across cultures and civilizations, in the heart of evocative architecture.
Embark on an immersive, sensory adventure to discover the cultures and civilizations of wine. With over 3,000 m² of open-air space, nearly twenty interactive themed areas invite you to embark on a unique journey through time and space, encountering wine in all its diversity.
Throughout your visit, you’ll be equipped with an audio-guide, a travel companion and innovative tool available in 8 languages, enabling you to explore the tour at your own pace and adapting to your profile. A visit to the permanent tour includes access to La Cité du Vin’s belvedere, where you can enjoy a 360° view of Bordeaux while sipping a glass of world wine (5cl).
NB: Ticket reservation and tasting included in the price of the stay, but the tour is self-guided with audio-guides (tour duration: approx. 3h00). Option: Transfer by coach to the airport or train station (if you don’t have your own coach and depending on your departure time).
